Black Strawberry worm
« on: November 07, 2012, 05:55:32 PM »
Hello everyone!

I am newbie. I just want to ask if does anybody know how to cure black strawberry worms? They are gross and they eat the inner part of the strawberry. So, when you are craving for one, that's the time you'll find out that it is already hollow.

Any comment is highly appreciated.

I don't know about worms, but millipedes will get into strawberries as you describe so that might be what you are seeing.  They can be difficult to manage in the garden. I have heard of poeple killing millipedes with traps made from yoghurt tubs which have sweet liquid in the bottom. The millipedes go after the liquid and are trapped and drown.

Thanks David.

Let me try that one. My friends also suggest me to spray vinegar. I would also try that one and see if it is also effective. Yeah, you're right they really cause nuisance.
