roundup

I am a novice to organic gardening.  Can you tell me if there is a problem with using roundup which I have been led to believe has no residual effect in the soil.  Is this true.

Roundup is not acceptable in an organic garden. It does leave residue and there are serious questions about its safety, both to humans and to the environment.

The manufacturer of Roundup, a corporation called Monsanto, has put out false advertising to claim that it is safe and leaves no residue. They have been sued in different courts around the world for this. They were also caught falsifying safety tests a few years ago.

People use roundup because it is convenient and because they have been misled into thinking it is harmless.
